Yesterday at our launch event, we were delighted to have some of the most experienced members of the Spectrum community as our guests. Amongst these were the Oliver twins, Philip and Andrew Oliver, who began to professionally develop computer games while they were still at school, and at one point during the 1980s it was reported that 7% of all UK games sales were attributable to the Oliver Twins. We also welcomed Lee Fogarty, whose World of Spectrum web site is the world’s premier source of Spectrum related information; Jonathan Cauldwell, whose Spectrum games and his Arcade Game Designer are legendary; Stephen Brown, who created most of the game files in the Vega, thanks to his work on the preservation team at World of Spectrum.
The event took place at the factory of SMS Electronics Ltd whom we would like to thank very much for hosting the launch event. SMS is our manufacturer of the Vega and the Vega+, and they have given us really tremendous support since we first met them 22 months ago.
As part of yesterday’s event, all guest went on a tour of the factory, to gain a bit of an understanding as to how electronic products are assembled and tested. Images will follow soon and we will be in contact next week to tell you about delivery schedules.
